Empowerment. Public awareness - diversity. Needs and rights. Self help -
share skills. Grass roots organisation. Health issues. Travellers human rights
-education. Helping the most needy and vulnerable. 0 to 18+. Home educating
or in school. Diversity.
Mission - Continuation of TSC. Links with other groups, schools, playbus. Community involvement - motive to become involved. Motivate and encourage people to share skills. Inspire kids. Research current needs. Review sucesses. Work with in school, and home, site, no, education kids. Provide access.
Aims - Advice about education opportunities. Funded activities - fundraising to enable this. Financial security of TSC - core funding. Design ways to get people involved. Strengthen organisation to make it more effective. Raise public awareness of educational rights and issues of travellers. Assist parents to make choices. Provide opportunities for kids. PR strategy - relaunch.
Objectives - Onsite Provision through Winter Site School(s), and the PC Classroom Project. Re-write publications. Re-publish. Toy Company donations. Funded workers. Research needs of kids. Understanding of travellers, overcome barriers. Communication between sites and charity organisations, ie. playbus, & also health visitors. Participate with stall and kids area at summer events. More resources on web site. Recruit Trustees. Core Fund. Fun Fundraising. Design and publish resources for schools. Publish home educators pack -advice re legal situation. Publish 6 monthly newsletter. Paid outreach workers. Resources. Review and update policy areas - involvement, child protection, environment. PR.
We have identfied that more funding would unlock human resources waiting to help, in the key areas of teaching, research, and administration. In particular, the burden of debt, held by recently qualified teachers, is blocking voluntary work.
